Shea Stadium, located in New York City borough Queens, was home to both the New York Mets (1964-2008) and NFL team, the New York Jets (1964-1983). Shea Stadium, named for William A. Shea who brought the MLB NL back to New York, was demolished for a parking structure adjacent to the new Citi Field.
